BLACK AND BOUGIE AT ALARA LAGOS

Black was the choice of outfit as usual, Alara was the immediate place on my “to go” list. The sun’s lavish distribution of temperature was not a problem on that day because there was a comfortable means of transport.  The good feeling of seeing a new place is always unquantifiable for me; you could say I wore my best dress to see Alara Lagos.

Pictures did not lie about the place, I almost blurted out! Let me start from the RECEPTION: we (I went with my brother and Mutteehat) were received the same way as people coming to tear a cheque of millions (if you can decipher what i mean). First foot into Alara Lagos was warm and welcoming. The attendants’ black attire will draw you closer to be jaw-dropped at the greatness of arts silently sitting there.

You would swear you haven’t seen a place that in the whole wide world. Sa’eedah’s atlas describes Alara Lagos as a magnificent gallery where a person with good pair of the eyes would see bespoke fashion in its weirdest yet appealing form, eccentric collection of items, paintings as raw as reality and works of writing from father beyond this planet. They are not there for nothing; they are up for sales of course.

Visiting Alara Lagos another time would be because of the kind attendant Naydu, who took us through without flinching. There was a calm satisfactory way he treated us that would make anyone feel utterly comfortable there. We did not stop to see the wonders of Alara just at the ground level, we were taken through the whole nooks and holes.

The upper chamber of Alara Lagos opens to the genesis view of modern Lagos city; the tall buildings of Victoria Island will make you fall in love with Lagos again.

This makes the precise address of Alara Lagos to be 12a Akin Olugbade Victoria Island, Lagos.

Down the luxury store through the ‘Nok by Alara’ restaurant is an opening into a state of the art, colourful relaxation spot. I imagined a not so loud live band over a glass of wine there at twilight, the thought made me quiver.

And yes the great wall of Alara Lagos is unforgettable too!
