THE RUMOURED STRING BETWEEN DARKOO AND AYRA STARR

Darkoo and Ayra came off as though they had foreseen this narrative, hence the catchy lyrics, “Why is my happiness disturbing you?”

A few weeks ago, the internet went into a wild stir of thoughts about what could be going down between British Nigerian singer, Darkoo and Ayra Starr, the Mavin Records stunner. Why a collaboration was not established as part of the supposition must be a result of the suggestive post that emanated from Darkoo’s camp. In the popular Gen. Z term for representation, the post was “giving,” and it was blameless to have thought about the two songstresses in light of the rumour. However, it takes a slight rethink (if only Darkoo’s caption made it easy) to assume a relationship far different from a sexual one between them. Why didn’t anyone think of new music?

It becomes interesting how it dawned on us what those two were up to in the actual sense, and by now, everyone will agree that coming together to make music births a bond that can be interpreted to mean many unprintable things.

Knowing pretty well what they had on the way, neither of the two acts made any defensive attempt about the buzz for as long as it lingered. Finally, and less surprisingly, the outcome of the loved-up post is right in our hands with the default guide for what to make out of it. The track ‘Disturbing U’ takes another turn in the subsiding speculation about the wording. Darkoo and Ayra came off as though they had foreseen this narrative, hence the catchy lyrics, “Why is my happiness disturbing you?” This can as well be said as an outburst from the pressure and hot media takes that come with soaring as high as these two are in the industry.
