Where I come from, we have a very keen taste for Amala. We don’t settle for any type of Amala because we eat the best of it. After all the bragging, you care to know where I come from??? Anybody who has eaten Amala in Ibadan and Ogbomosho will nod in agreement with me. Those two places make the best Amala in the whole world. Yea I said what I said!!!

I don’t bother myself looking for Amala joints in Lagos that can match my taste because I know say “all na wash” They just dey try ni. To even make matters worse, they are frigging expensive and never worth the hype. I had a stop-over somewhere on the mainland sometime ago and it wasn’t bad, but I did not hold on to the satisfaction because I couldn’t be going all the way from the Island to eat Amala.

This spot where I found my cure was described to me by my surest G who sabi as he dey go for street. He told me of the Amala standard there, yet it took me a while to go there. When I finally did, I knew I had truly found the cure. They will make a good customer out of me.

Amala to Rewa is located in the shopping complex right beside Lekki County Homes, Ikota. Once you step in, you would have seen the orange wall beckoning you. I have been there a couple of times before coming up with this review to be sure I wasn’t just in rare luck the first time I went.

It was a famished day after working long hours, I couldn’t mould a feast to save my life at the moment I stepped in and I could not wait till their afternoon batch of Amala would be done so I tried Poundo Yam. The prices are friendly just as in Ibadan and Ogbomosho, they work with cashless policy too so why the stress.
