INI CREATES A NEW REALITY ON HIS DEBUT EP, ‘DREAMS’
What tale can best be told of a young bassist grown into an expert musician, producer, songwriter and singer? Born Iniobong Afahaenam Adobafo, Inimusic has mastered the how-to(s) in all the tiers of music studies before emerging as a dedicated singer in this body of work titled, ‘Dreams.” A diploma in Music Theory at the Muson School of Music, equating to the same diploma award by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London is no joke for a determined artist like Ini.
This would be his first attempt in the music industry as a singer, and he dared with this body of work, a melodic story of his background, family love, emotions and mental status at the time of creation. He wouldn’t get his mind off the 3rd track on the EP titled ‘Suicide.’
Suicide in its literal context reveals the deepest of a person’s vulnerable state of mind, then when put into the art of music as a result of environmental inspiration, it becomes even a bigger focus. Ini sings to the heart of his audience in this solo project. He did not leave the tail of his gospel music and jazz background as he experimented with other sounds like Afrobeats and hip hop also.
With 13 of his 23 years dedicated to the craft of making music, the EP Dreams, though his first-ever attempt after producing countless Christian hit songs, is a practical expression of Ini’s journey so far. He beckons the world into his pace with this project and hopes for acceptance to forge ahead because he’s got loads more in the box.
